Elliot Lake Men of Song

Elliot Lake, Ontario, is situated in the midst of the beautiful precambrian shield and surrounded by pristine lakes and virgin forest in what is known as the "Near North" area of Ontario. The city is about 30 kilometers north of the Trans Canada Highway (17), almost mid way between Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury. Until the mid '90's, this was a uranium mining town, the last mine closing in 1996.
The Elliot Lake Men of Song is an informal group of men with varying degrees of talent that love to sing. We meet for rehearsal on Wednesday evening, starting in the Fall and through to late Spring, in the basement of the United Church on Hillside North. We perform a medley of secular and sacred music under the direction of Mrs. Jean Toovey with accompaniment of Mr. Ken Little, a professional pianist. While we are serious about our performances, the emphasis is on fun and camaradie.
We perform at no charge at nursing homes, churches and public events when requested.
