A good number of the Men of Song members and wives attended a farewell gathering for Inez and Al Humphreys, leaving for the more temperate climes of Vancouver Island next week. His Honour, the Mayor of Elliot Lake, Rick Hamilton, was in attendance and presented Inez and Al with a memorial plaque.
Al contributed to many causes during the 20 years the couple spent in Elliot Lake, not the least of which was his enthusiasm for the activities of the Men of Song. He leaves us with a strong memory having written, with Ken Little, the popular number ,"The Ballad of Elliot Lake".
We wish the couple the best of luck and good health in their new home.
